When you look at the health Canada pages it's in bold letters every time they say it's safe and effective lol. The push it so much they must make it be seen that they are SAFE AND EFFECTIVE [emoji2]

Anecdotal evidence but in my immediate and extended family we've seen way more strange health issues in the past few months than ever before.

Brain aneurysm in a 75 year old active woman, sudden death in an otherwise healthy 42 year old male (immediate family is not disclosing the autopsy results), and just heard this morning that my aunt (60) was hospitalized with blood clots in her brain. There other issues as well but not things I'd like to publicly post. The common denominator is all of these complications happened within a week or two of the second shot.

I know a few people who have had covid. Most had to be tested to know they even had it.

Benefits outweigh the risks indeed.

I've set foot on every continent except Antarctica. You can read a book about D-Day but will never understand the immensity of standing on Sword beach and walking through the cemeteries. I've seen elephants in the zoo but it doesn't compare with going where they live and seeing them there. You also get to decide if a place people rave about is all that it's cracked up to be. There are the occasional risks but not much more than being at home.

I have lived, worked and recreated in 56 countries (mostly countries people on here would consider shyte holes) on 6 different continents. Kayaked class 5 rapids in canyons 12,000 feet deep. Watched the sunrise from summits so high you can perceive the curvature of the earth. Crossed the Sahara by camel. Watched the Wildebeest migration on the Serengeti. Scuba dived the great barrier Reef and the Galapagos. The list goes on.

Everything in your post is bang on. Don't get me wrong - I still love Canada and have visited every province and territory. But to think the world offers nothing more to experience in person is BS as I'm sure you would agree.

Well I've only set foot on a couple of continents and hated every minute of airports, planes, customs and the general hassle of getting to a destination. The destinations are usually as good as expected but I find it harder and harder to go very far from home anymore. Our kids are 13 and 10 now and have never left Canada. They can go when they're older if they choose to, that's what we did growing up. My parents couldn't afford to take us on a plane.

I'd take a lakeside rented cottage for a week in Ontario over an all inclusive down south any day, and adrenaline seeking isn't for me at all. We have relatives in Australia and a free stay if we want to go, just no desire. They come to Canada often enough.

To each their own I guess, we don't feel like we've missed out on much by vacationing close to home, or at home for that matter.

Nothing wrong with that Greg. My family was similar - we never traveled - not even domestically. I didn't get the travel bug until my early 30s and all my realtives on both sides think I am insane.


I enjoy peace and quiet on a beautiful lake as well. I also have a hard time understanding the appeal of all inclusive. Did it once and not for me. Different strokes for different fokes.
