I just picked up a 2015 ram ecodiesel. I spent have of my mileage towing approx. 2 ton. Traded a 5.7 hemi. Fuel mileage just killed me when I was towing. Had a Cummings in the past. For my type of driving, the ecodiesel really fits. Only 1000 km on it now, but it is getting well over 30 mpg. If I didn't tow, I would buy the same truck my son bought last year, v6 ram....he gets 30 mpg all day long. I've been a dodge guy since 98.
I don't hunt enough like some of you guys (hard right now with a 2 year old and one coming in May) and I don't have need for a big truck for work purposes. When my lease was up at the end of last year I was looking at all the trucks. The silverado seemed to be the quietest and smoothest driving, power was better in the Ram and I liked the look of the ram (they support the hunting industry the most), the new F150 wasn't out yet, the tundra I really liked but terrible on gas. I wimped out an leased a car to save money while my wife is off work with the kids. I know the owners of a Honda dealership really well and I'm hoping to trade it in for the new ridgeline when it comes out. Most guys on the forum vote for the 150 though from what I've seen on here. Ford has a good deal right now for the XLT, 2 year lease for $350, that's pretty good.
I've been looking at all the models as of late. My old girl is eating up my wallet with the 15-18mpg she gets. It would be nice to mix and match some brands. Had a look at the Ram with the four corner airbag system and must say it's a great idea...... should it last. To be able to lift the truck two inches with the push of a button seems great for where I go. If I could take that system with ford's ecoboost and plant it in a chev body I'd be laughing.
The new F150 won't rust. It's all aluminum now, and around 700 lbs lighter because of that.
