INFLICTING FATAL DAMAGE TO THE HEART AND LUNGS! How much better of a kill shot do u want? I have never had to put a follow up shot into a whitetail using this. And NEVER had one go more than a few yards with almost all going down on the spot. It needs to be broadside. Again whats between the shoulders? Think about it? You want to shoot them through the shoulders have fun with that, a lot of meat loss for nothing.
No projectile outside a cannot will guarantee a bang flop on a deer, you can claim whatever you want but it is obvious that you have not been around all that many deer shot when you claim that a 12ga slug will drop them in their tracks every time.
