My grandparents came from Glasgow in 69 when my mom was 9 . Never been there before the heavy drinking must be influenced by the Irish neighbors jk lol. Lots of knife fights you say eh drunk people can become pretty stupid lol.

We definitely dont have free access to the firearms here. Unless you are talking about the criminals hehe . Their is some extent to be able to receive one here.

What,s going on with the homicides and shootings is that the Canadian public are not overly concerned because the victims do not matter much to them.The victims are black,poor,live in housing projects and many are gang bangers.

Its only when a Jane Creba is shot on Yonge Street that the public starts to take notice or you have another Danforth shooting.

The police are not in the projects in a big way anymore,they do not want to confront or profile the bad guys and are only there to pick up the pieces.

That's the way Canadian society thinks,though,isn't it? If it doesn't affect the collective conscience,nobody gives a rat's a**. Double barrel shotgun owners don't care if every other type is confiscated until the government comes for theirs.

Not all Canadians only some , I see them all the same .

Also the janitor should be treated the same as the CEO. No difference we are all humans we all wake up and get dressed the same .

This has come up before and I check into it. MNRF regulations do not prevent handguns from being used for hunting. The question was raised over the use of an antique firearm being used for hunting, the MNRF said there was no problem with that. However the catch comes through Federal law. The handgun must be proven to date back to the American Civil War era and must be an original not a copy. Such firearms do not fall under the Firearm Act, apparently there is a list of a few others handguns that fall into that same category as well. But the MNRF regulations in and of themselves do not prohibited the use of handguns for hunting. It's the Firearm Act that prevents their use.

Well no actually one fact is that there has been 600 shootings this year alone in Toronto.

Well at least the Doctors are registered. It would make sense as they treat the entire population of Canada as opposed to the smaller percentage of gun owners. I would be interested to see you post some information on this and we could do a comparison on a numbers basis.

And 99 percent are unlicensed persons with an illegally owned firearm. Most that are charged do little if any time in lock-up. Back to the street with a new piece by the end of the week. What are our politicians doing to make us safe?....

What they may eventually do to make us safe is stop footing around and go the Australian or New Zealand way. They will tell us they tried to compromise
gave us breaks,brought in reasonable measures like the GUN REGISTRY ,the gun lobby would not have it and hence they are going for a complete ban.

As a Liberal gun huggers I hope it does not come to that but you know what happens when a lobby is unwilling to compromise.In a democracy if the majority wish it and as has been evident with those other two countries mentioned,modeled after Westminster we would follow the same path.
