These types of investigations are fluid. What an investigator thinks today, may take a right turn next week. They will not, nor should they, release information that very well may change. The information will be released upon the completion of their investigation.Quote:

I can say it’s not pleasant being an involved officer, and not knowing what’s going on either…This is one of the major complaints both police and the public have, with SIU investigations. It’s been like this since SIU were formed.Quote:

No its not only the police involved the SIU are involved and they are the one's charged with conducting this investigation. They need time to get to the bottom of this incident. You cannot fire the police for invoking their charter rights and remaining silent as this right is afforded to all persons. You have to remember these officers are represented almost right away by lawyers provided by their associations in almost all incidents and the first thing a lawyer is going to advise you is to remain silent.
I agree, in most cases keeping quiet is the smart thing to do but I also believe police should be held to a hire standard when it comes to things like this.Quote:

Every Officer on the scene that day knows exactly what happened.. the only chore the SIU has is to get them to admit it.
The true meaning of 'Protect' and Serve... mostly covering you and your buddies backside :)

Average Number of Days to Close a Case
For the fiscal year, it took 28.26 days to close a case by memo and 132.32 days to close by Director’s Report. There were 82 cases that were closed in less than 30 days, or 21% of total cases.
Some of the delay could be with the forensics as you know with the number of overall shootings these days. Then there will be more because of the pandemic situation and staff.

The most basic questions have no answers.
Like I said the incident commander and all the officers under his command know exactly what happened, no mystery, they have the answers. They train for these incursions, there is nothing left to chance, everyone has a specific task. So when something goes wrong...they know exactly the 5 W's.Quote:
