I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I am partial to Ford but you won't be disappointed with a Dodge.

Nissan is flat out based on the truck you buy, no additional suspension work, or packages required. Ram? "up-to" is just over the Titans, but drill down, and actually start building your truck, and it becomes apparent that if you want to get towing and payload above what the Titan comes with as standard, you need to invest over $3K in the towing, and hauling package, otherwise the base 1500 with 5.7 is actually below the Nissan. yes spend all that money to bring the payload up to less than par, or buy a chev or ford or tundra and get a stock payload that is 400 lbs higher then them ;) thats old stats, not sure what dodges new payload is with the airbags, but the year i had looked at the payload was 1350 lbs, where as most gms/fords/tundras are in the 1850 lb range depending on truck...

most people i have talked to that have the eco boost ford, wont buy one again, and wish they hadve went with the 5 L ... apparently it dosent tow very well...

still loving my 5.3 L though :)

What would concern me with the eco boost is not the performance. Tons of torque and horsepower, more than enough and great mileage too. I just wonder what it would cost to repair the turbocharger should it fail? Sucker spins nonstop at crazy rpms, bearings fail. Sometimes a truck should be a truck. Some use of aluminum makes sense but how are the insurance companies pricing policies on these new trucks? How many body shops are qualified to repair aluminum? Any jobbers have parts? This all gets factored in. No full sized truck is bought on strictly a gas consumption reason. I would wait a couple years and see how this new technology proves itself.

the turbos are apparently $3000 each, and its a twin turbo... and have herd quite a few have already failed...

to me the ecoboost is still a 6 cylinder, yes its puting out the power that will shame alot of 8's, but when it comes down to brass tax, the 8 is the way to go...

lol probably one of those things that if you go to 100 different websites you will get 100 different results, like the commercials, dodge has bin damed trucktrend truck of the year, then the next commercial ford has bin named motortrends truck of the year lol i know i gave up reading reviews on anything i buy, cause you get a half dozen of one, and 6 of the other...

Being a mechanic I have seen a bunch of trucks and the one thing that my customers keep asking me is " whats a good truck out there?" My answer is always " a good truck to buy is the one you maintain" I have a 2009 GMC sierra 1500 ext cab 4x4. I change my oil every 5k and rotate my tires every 10k. I change my air filter every 20k and change my trans and transfer case oil every 40k. I give it a full tune up every 60k. And I oil spray it at krown every year. My truck now has 120k and you couldn't even tell just by looking at it. Its never given me problems. My point is , you should buy something that can handle what you intend to use it for and maintain it regularly and will last a long time. You can't expect a 1/4 ton 2wd truck to do what a 1 ton 4x4 can.

perfectly said. the GM dealership always look at me funny when i bring my truck in at 5000-6000 kms, they always say, its fine to 10K, to which i respond no its not lol they say wait till the change oil light come on...
