Many years ago over 30. I think I was around 14 at the time my brothers 12 and 10. We were fishing the Loc lomond lakes outside of Saint John NB. My Dad and a friend of his who was a CO took us fishing for browns. There was a minimum size back that if I recall I think it was 14 inches. My youngest brother caught his first brown at best it was under 13 inches. I still remember that old fella looking at my brother and asking him if it was his first trout. Dad's friend the CO looked at him and smiled "Looks like a good 14 inch to me."
My mother was born shortly after WW2 they were dirt poor she was raised on poached game from deer to upland game as well as the poor man's food lobster.

Gilroy, as has been said before, by me and several others on here. You're out of touch with the real world and real poverty. Those few times you went hunting up north couldn't possibly show you how some folks live. You were a 1 week tourist passing thru and no doubt, way past your comfort zone.
"Food Bank"? "Thrift Store"? Com'on man, wake up! I am a regular volunteer at our local foodbank here in the little town close to where I live. Not every place up here has a foodbank. They're very scattered and it can be impossible for many to even get to them due to living in the country with no vehicle.
You don't know what poor is do you? Why don't you volunteer some of your time and help out. Go do dishes at your local soup kitchen a couple times a month? In the meantime get off your self righteous butt and quit trying to stir the pot.
