Listen, there are a lot of "What if" statements floating around but the fact is that there were 4 fully trained police officers waiting outside while the shooting happened. People are not wired to run to danger, they are wired for survival first. You put a teacher who knows guns in a situation where they are being shot at and think they will make a rational decision on what to do next? Expect them to shoot back trying to get the shooter to stop shooting at them. You put this together with a few hundred students running around while the shooting in going on and you think that there will not be an increased risk of collateral damage? Now you take every teacher in that school with a firearm, shooting at the danger, which they may not even be able to determine what it is due to all the commotion.
Snowwalker, how you can even start to equate a shootout with a pile of people with guns with no experience to a hunting situation is really a head scratcher.
Give them all guns, fine, see what happens. Give everyone at every event in the US a couple pistols and an AR-15 with a collection of 30rd magazines and see what happens.
