It’s fun for now because it’s a weekend, let’s see how many people will be as accepting of it come work day Monday, Tuesday, etc. Apparently they plan to stay until their demands are met.
I will say good on them for keeping it peaceful.

Spent the afternoon there getting acquainted with the fine Canadian folks who have taken the time to express their God given right to express their free opinion.
It was simply great as I walked up from Somerset at O'connor where I parked my truck and headed north. Made it up to Wellington and mingled with the crowd and proceeded due west towards the Supreme court building and beyond. I was impressed by the police squads patrolling everywhere protecting We The People. There were no interactions seen as they stood in the background allowing everyone to express themselves in a peaceful manner and whatever the message they wanted to deliver. AS IT SHOULD BE!. Units from the OPP, Toronto, RCMP, etc were seen on the shoulder patches but all were great and respectful of the protest. Great job guys. I was approached with offers of food, drink and plenty of smiles. What a great experience.
Ok you got me! I’m working in the intelligence community on counter measures for the protests. My cover is a framer in the construction industry freezing my stones off sheathing a roof in -20 C. Yeah it’s a tough gig but it pays the bills and I sleep good at night.
Ottawa mayor is trying to tell people it's time to go home lol..

Now that most of the protestors have had their little temper tantrum and are heading home only the hard core loonies remain. Ottawa police sound like they are gearing up and ready to drop the kid gloves.

Update 5: Weekend Demonstration
HomeNews and CommunityNews and Media
Posted On Sunday January 30, 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sunday, January 30, 2022 7:28pm
(Ottawa)— Throughout the weekend, the Ottawa Police Service and its partners have been actively and patiently managing a well-funded, major demonstration in the downtown core. We have seen multiple cases of disruptive, inappropriate and threatening behaviour from demonstrators.
Police are working with organizers to facilitate the safe departure of individuals and vehicles and to ensure safety.
Police are aware that many demonstrators have announced their intention to stay in place. This will continue to cause major traffic, noise and safety issues in the downtown core. We urge all residents to avoid travel to the core.
Police have avoided ticketing and towing vehicle so as not to instigate confrontations with demonstrators. Still, confrontations and the need for de-escalation has regularly been required.
Along with the safety issues, costs to businesses and social costs, the Ottawa Police continues to tally the financial costs of the policing costs which are estimated at more than $800,000 a day.
If you work in the downtown core, please plan to work from home if possible.
Please adjust your plans in the downtown core. If your children attend school in the downtown area, please check with them to see if the school is open tomorrow.
Avoid travel into the downtown core tomorrow.
We are immensely proud of our police members and partners who have worked tirelessly to plan for and manage this demonstration over the past few days under difficult circumstances of extreme cold temperatures and difficult and challenging treatment from some demonstrators.
Public safety remains our number one priority.

Jeez you'd think with all that traffic businesses would've made more in the last two days than the last two years. -20+ all weekend I think they've demonstrated their resilience. I'm sure they will be seeing wave of protestors coming in till this is done, millions more need to let off a little steam. lol
