Amazing! Congratulations. Reminds me exactly of how my first deer went. A doe, quartering to slightly and a lung/liver shot. Also with a crossbow and climber around this time of year as well. Bears were also the first animals I took as well.

The first is always the hardest. I've been hunting for deer ever since I got my license at 13. I had a 4-point sneak under my stand. I didn't have a deer within shooting range until I was 19 when I got this doe and didn't get my first buck until last year. I did however shoot my first bear at 15. It can be said that getting bears to the bait in daylight is it's own challenge, but once they're there shooting them with archery is a piece of cake (A fed bear is a dead bear). With deer they come from any direction and are aware of danger in every direction. They are completely unpredictable from the dumbest of button bucks to the most weary and wise battle born bucks. This is why I have filmed all of my bear hunts and have yet to shoot a deer on camera.
Congratulations, and beautiful bow
