WTG Frank, I've been out 2 times now had them bark and howl back but not giving me a shot yet
Congrats! I know you've mentioned it in past posts but they are too frequent to look through, what cartridge are you using? I've got a .270win that I will be using when I get the chance to coyote hunt. I'm not concerned about pelt damage. The farm I will be hunting provides limited distance shooting and I think 200 yards would be the max. Do you or anyone ever consider shooting slugs if the shots are within 100 yards? I'm asking for safety reasons, knowing the limited distance a slug will travel vs a .270 gives me a bit more piece of mind.
12ga sabot slug for close range, especially, around barns, sheds and silos. .270Win for pastures, fallow fields and fence lines. Set up where you can be sure of your backdrop and use frangible bullets (any 110-130gr. ballisitic tip) when pelt retention isn't an issue.
Good job! setup worked!
Way to go Frank
