Never let the police (RCMP, OPP, or Regional) enter your home unless they have a warrant. Well the great thing abut marching orders is that they must be "lawful orders" and if they are unlawful will not stand up to judicial scrutiny.

A friend of mine who girl friend retired after 30 years with the Police is anti cop go figure eh and yes she was a cop.

So by extension of your logic marching orders most be "Lawful orders" because they stand up to judicial scrutiny. So I take it when the RCMP were rounding up native children to send away to residential schools that this was lawful and would stand up to judicial scrutiny? Another recent example of this would be the RCMP mishandling of the NS mass murder.

Just because something falls under lawful orders does not make it morally correct.

I should have added ..."an let them know they are being recorded" ..apparently that is also a requirement. The guy in the video did it perfectly.

If the RCMP mishandled the NS mass murder with a suspect armed with a semi auto rifle, there is no indication and orders had been given to them to act unlawfully as far as I know. There may have been a lack of lawful orders or a lack of any orders?

Well, I didn’t see any clothing or uniform that would identify them as RCMP, (and I imagine if he got a visit they’d be plainclothes anyway) or didn’t hear them offer up any ID...wouldn’t you think you’d ask that if two guys showed up at your door ?

I have similar sentiments, I respect police and appreciate them, however....

They can't enter your home if you don't open the door (without a warrant or other legal justification) "Just a talk" can turn into evidence against you in a hurry, especially with people trained to manipulate you into trusting them.
