Came across Cabela's sale on muddy cams, 4 pack for $199. I have no experience with this brand. They aren't no glow, but could work if you set up one as a decoy cam and aren't expensive if it grows legs.
I get a kick out of some the hunt camps in our area with their "These camps under video surveillance" signs except there's no hydro or cell service for miles. I guess they think people are stupid. Just remember to not leave expensive equipment around and to expect people to "drop in" from time to time. It s a huge PO,but,in reality.other than bi**h on this forum, there isn't one damn thing we can do about it. For landowners in the southern part of the province, cameras are a valuable tool when license plate numbers and vehicles are in the picture. Police and CO's absolutely love that type of evidence. Be sure the day, date and timer function is operating properly. It's important.
So unfortunately I have quite a bit of experience with camp break ins in the sprucedale area.
I suggest putting the cameras high in the tree with a ladder. Theives may not see them and if they do will hopefully not be able to get to them.
If your cams are not No glow turn off the flash, in my area the theives come at night and the glow simply give the cams away.
As others have said leave nothing theives will want but if you do stash whatever it is in the bush not the shed or cabin.
It sucks but not much you can do to stop them and the police really don't even care from my experience.
Unfortunately sitting inside with Old Betsy across your lap the next time they kick in the door is not an option ? Battery operated lights and alarms ?
