Poor Mark what is all this gloom and doom.
The middle class are sitting on homes that are appreciating 20 and 30% per year, nobody has stopped buying and selling homes. Nobody has stopped buying new vehicles in fact there are waiting lists. So the price of gas is up a bit, how about driving less, maybe going for the occasional walk and save the health care system a few bucks on the heart attacks. You could grow some vegetables and get some organic food in your body (I just harvested 400lbs at the camp) pictures to follow.
Now all you need to to go out and get that deer or bear and your all set for the winter.
Gil ... the middle class as you call it, is now moving in big numbers to living in multiple family homes, our children cannot even think of home ownership, food is right now insanely more expensive than a year ago, gas prices are up 60%!!
You think that is doom and gloom rhetoric? OK ... you have to be rich, because the way you talk, you don't seem to care about what most people are facing. It's no laughing mater. Raise interest rates to 4% or 5% and see what happens ... there is just no more breathing room in household finances.
"Middle class is sitting in homes appreciating at 20-30% per year. " You do realise this is not good.
Young people - even with good paying jobs - cannot afford homes.
You don't seem to realize that your home is not becoming worth "more" do you? It's your dollar that is become worth less.
You don't seem to realise that the standard of living for most Canadians is dropping like a store, because you, like so many other voters, don't care about anyone other than yourself. When did being a self-centred narcissist become a Canadian value???
I'm only a few years off from retirement and am benefitting from the skyrocketing real estate and stock market values.
If I decided to dump my bush lot, I could retire tomorrow.
But this inflation and economic instability is not good - and anyone that thinks it is isn't thinking a lot.
Will someone please explain how the main stream media can broadcast results as a "HUGE LIBERAL WIN!!!" when only a half dozen polls have posted results 3 hours before the western polls have closed? What's wrong with this picture?
