Yes sir, I 100% agree with you! This is just another resource I am trying ! Believe me when I say I’m honestly and genuinely doing my best to learn as fast as possible. I shoot a minimum of 50-70 arrows per day. I only have 3 so it’s alotttt of back and forth walking hahah. I’ll be going to crown land this weekend to simply get my butt out there.

I’m up at 4 am everyday, work or no work! Been a curse and blessing all my life, lol!

It’s daunting, it really is. But I 100% agree that the best way is just to get after it. I’ll be going out to the bush this weekend and every time I’m able to in order to simply learn the terrain. Trial and error is what I keep hearing and reading so that’s what I’ll be doing! Have a great day

I’m 100% going to be hunting regardless of having a mentor or not. I’ve been spending all week getting everything I may potentially need in order to spend a day or two out in crown land. I want to do this far from southern Ontario, I want to actually experience the wild as best as possible in this province, obviously within the range of my experience and limitations.

Thank you for the farm idea, I hadn’t really thought about somewhere I could pay in order to go and hunt game there, when I am unable to go into the bush. I’ll be checking out if there are any near me.

Honestly thank you for this reply, I’ll be checking the atlas as soon as I get home from work to see what is a reasonable place to go with in a 4-5 hour drive.

Since you live in Simcoe, and intend to hunt with archery for deer, visit some of the apple growers in Norfolk county and see if they will give you permission to hunt. Deer are a real pain for fruit growers, and you might just get lucky enough that they will let you hunt their farms with your archery gear.
Worth a try.

Depending on the budget of course, I think, when getting started, ihunter app(huntable tract maps) and trail cams are better investment then new shiny firearm/camo cloth, stands etc...

Finding a deer trail is easy, however knowing how often does the deer frequents those trails is gold.

1 piece of advise - mount trailcams concealed or high up in the tree, to avoid them growing legs one day. [emoji846]
