With deer season already in progress it makes you wonder that MNR warnings were not issued, at least until a non-transmittable (to humans) cause of death could be confirmed.
If it were something else disease could already have been transferred to humans.
I wonder if big money (read American) hunt camps in the area were a factor in official decisions being made?
I know I personally would have had 2nd thoughts about feeding children fresh venison harvested from the area until more info came out.
