Not a lot of people realize that we need to carry TWO cards on the boat ready for inspection by Police,CO and Fisheries Officers,our PCOC we get to show proof for doing the boater's course PLUS Transport Canada pleasure craft registration authorization. It's free (at least it was when I did mine in 2019),download and printable from the TC website.
If you read what you posted, it clearly states that renewals will become available in the future, go to section 106 on transport canada, about boat licensing, the date is there, 2021/12/09Quote:

I've had the same boat same since 2005, live at the same address since 1989 and haven't heard nothing, I went online transport canada to check this out, and that's where I found the date that I posted, did you see that date in the previous version I mentioned?

Licensing Your Boat
Unlike the boat license that you keep in your wallet, a Pleasure Craft License is the set of ID numbers displayed on your boat which can be used by Search and Rescue personnel to identify your vessel. A Pleasure Craft License is different than a Vessel Registration, which provides proof of ownership (legal title), a unique name and official number for your boat and the right to use your boat as security for a marine mortgage.
The Small Vessel Regulations require that all pleasure craft of all sizes equipped with one or more primary propulsion motors of 10 hp (7.5 KW) or more must be licensed, unless they are registered. The regulation applies to all boats mostly operated or kept in Canada. You can obtain a 10 year license for free from Service Canada. You must renew the license after the 10 year period has expired. If your boat is already licensed, you should make sure that it is in your name and that your contact information is up-to-date. Renewal of your address or contact information does not qualify as a renewal of your pleasure craft license.
