Ah, the good old turkey shoot. I recall them being held by service clubs at a farm with a drive shed. The best shooter didn’t always win but we all had fun. Dice roll for glass turkeys too.

Anyone ever remember the turkey shoots held in Mono township off Hwy 10? Maybe 20-25 years ago?
I remember going with my dad and doing the youth shoots. I can remember all the guns they used to give out for prizes. I'm not even sure it was a public event as it was my dad's gpod friend that held it at his place.
Remember the barn was the beer gardens, when the shoots were over I can remember going in the beer gardens and everyone was arm wrestling and mercy fighting hahaha. Good times

I remember being 13 years old and shooting my gun at the Darlington Provincial Park turkey shoot. It would have been 1978 and I rode my bike about 15km to get there, with my shotgun on a shoulder sling. I remember all the old boys pissing themselves laughing when they saw a punk kid come to the shooting table. My gun was taller than me! A marlin bolt magnum goose gun with a 36" barrel in full choke. It was like taking cake from a bunch of babies . I almost tore the paper target off the straw bale. The judge took one look at it and said "the kid wins'. I remember I got a frozen turkey and a black Olt crow call as a prize. Had a gell of a time cycling home with that frozen turkey and my gun!
