like many critters in the woods they get a pass. until they show up at my barn. fox, coon, weasel, whatever it is... if its around the livestock its shot on site. i hate doing it. i shot a beautiful little ermine yesterday evening. little bugger was in the coop. curious and looked friendly enough... but i know if i left the barn with him in and out of the coop i'd be waking up to what looked like a cult of chickens trying to blast off to outer space.
