He mentioned not turning in his firearm "until they pay me." The government has committed to compensation so not turning a firearm in until compensation is received would not be an illegal activity.

I wonder if the "costing" figures are bearing out what everyone has been telling the Liberals that spending more millions on another firearm boondoggle for absolutely no logical reason might not be very politically expedient?
