Unfortunately he and another old guy that helps me came up lame and the weather got nasty so we purchased firewood from that very same logger to get us to this point in time. Only 60 bucks a face cord (or in my case my 5x10 trailer full) if we picked it up at his place (70 bucks delivered) and though mostly Ash there was Beech, Black Cherry, Oak and Maple mixed in. Still scratching my head as to why I bother doing all that work ? LoL ! I have to admit some pieces were a juicy 25 plus percent moisture content but the bulk was in the 15 to 20 percent range. Now if only we get some Spring weather it will be back to cutting and splitting !
