Must admit this is a good addition

I agree with this one. The last "off site" link I clicked on, wanted my bank account number. I never click on links. Put your point across with your own words.
Firstly gbk, it looks like you spent some time thinking this up. Good on you. But I can’t help thinking that the hunting and fishing sections of this forum bring us together, while the off topic section seems to tear us apart. Maybe the simplest answer is to shut down the off topic. I’m not really in favour of such a move, but if you remove politics from the discussion and purely focus on the outdoors, maybe most arguments will subside. I wonder (experimentally) if we removed the off topic for a month, if the forum would benefit.
How about a character limit ?
Ok if someone was to ask or post good info on DIY projects or "how to", where would they post that?
Could do a section on "How to", and "projects"......
Or let's be honest, if it's a ice shack, then it goes in fishing, if its a blind, then it's in hunting, if its a cabin, maybe we add a section called "the camp".
The off-topic side has been the main issue with conflicts, and interpersonal grievances. If we re-organize the site to be geared towards the outdoors only, then those issues tend to find other places to go.
Want to rant on the Govt and firearms legislation? There's a marvelous echo chamber over at CGN...
Or people can also go on FB and start up their own page.
The notion of rational and respectful discourse and discussion from differing viewpoints is a dying art, no one wants to actually discuss opposing viewpoints, or how they might have some validity, they simply want to be "right"....and become keyboard warriors when they are opposed.
Oddly enough, I know some of the folks from here personally, they know where I live.....I find our discussion even when at odds, is much more respectful......funny that.
