20 Gauge for waterfowl

That's nice.

It's funny as a guy shooting an SBE II that you say they don't recoil much -- SBEs are inertia guns. Try a gas gun! Comparatively your SBE will have significantly more recoil than any gas operated 12 out there.

As for why shoot a 20 -- I like to shoot birds close, and decoying. I promise you they're just as dead with my 20 as your 12. Also, because I want to!

I'm just waiting for someone to come on saying that they won't shoot a 20, "because 3 1/2 shells in a 12"

Had a guy come into the store two weeks ago looking for the longest range chokes we could sell him.....

He had 3x shotguns, 2 Beretta's and a Turknelli....they all had the tightest chokes available..... Two kicks, and another, I can't recall the make....

If you can spend the $$ on the gun, spend some money on some target ammo, and clays.

The proof is in the pudding..

Probably.

Field and Stream did a great article on it. And it also addressed the difference between 3" and 3.5" shells.
