Wow I just noticed how HUGE the forest is! Is there a map online or somewhere I can find, incase the forest had some private land I can avoid

Use Google Earth and check it out.

I don't think I will get out there right now but I will be out there after deer shotgun season and maybe after breakfast in Kemptville Oct 29th.

Access in the forest is pretty easy, so you should be able to check it out anytime during the fall when the access roads are open. Close to Roger Stevens drive on the south side there is a large pond, but I am pretty sure there is no hunting allowed. People are constantly walking their dogs etc there. The are other ponds on the north side of Roger Stevens where a canoe or kayak would be best for retrieval.

Actually I think you can hunt there, just check the signs in the parking lot's, I have hunted off Rogers Stevens before.

I know that on the backside of that parcel, which you can access from the main trail which heads south from Roger Stevens there was a sign saying no motorized access and no hunting. I have always just figured that the pond was off limits to hunting. With the number of people accessing that pond by the wide trail that goes right to it, I can't imagine that the hunting would be very good there anyway. There are much better options in the forest.

I just came back from the forest, I was at some random pond I spotted on the map off of Roger Steven's road E4 I believe, but the only thing I didn't do I didn't bring my canoe for some dumb reason, I was ducks deeper in to the pond, where I was sitting in the bushes by the trail just once around 730sh am I had few ducks coming down to my decoy I shot once missed I didn't shoot again because I didn't think my waders were high enough to walk in retrive my kill so I teased my self a bit and left, rookie mistake was not bringing my canoe, still would like to explore the forest hoping to find other spots and have a better hunt, I like that it's not far from my place since I don't know anybody to hunt on private land!

Well, you gotta start somewhere! I guess now you know what to do next time. We are very lucky to have access to such a large, huntable public parcel so close to the city. Better luck next time!

True, and I am enjoying the forest, very spacious, I met few people out there and they were chill, I was nervous at one point I had my car parked on side of the road and I was pretty far from it I was hoping no body would pop my tires or do anything els, because I heard many of them stores out in Calabogie people screwed around with other people's car, so I cut my trip short just to make sure car was ok, and fair enough it was fine, I don't think so far I heard anybody had that kind of experience in Malbrough forest.

For the most part I have never encountered anti hunters when out hunting and luckily none of the people I have ever worked with were anti hunters or anti gun.
