Gilroy's post has nothing to do with being "woke". It has to do with thinking about doing what is right.
His post is one more example of an organization being rebuked for not being inclusive- like a boat that many organizations find themselves in... a place that needs to think about inclusion.
However, publicly rebuking the organization that runs/owns the forum is not acceptable imo. I would recommend one write/email both organizations of your concern .
As per rule

Threads deemed to be an attempt to "stir the pot" or are looking for support on their attack will be removed. If you have an issue with a particular organization, business or corporation, please contact them directly. If you have an issue with a particular member, please contact the administrator or a moderator.
Lets leave it at that as bickering here will not change anything however a frank discussion with the powers that be may have your concerns addressed.
