well at least I know why there's been little chatter about whitefish. Was a bit disheartening when there was only 2 other trailers in the parking lot. When it was hot barely could find a spot. Anyways boot out to check a few spots. Lake was surprisingly choppy for the little wing. Had a hard time anchoring up but the lake calmed down in a hurry. Relief was short lived as the midges started to swarm in mass. A few bumps but nothing solid, only thing to surface was a couple of gobies. Packed it in by noon.
Now the public service announcement.
Got the boat on the trailer pulled up the ramp as always stopped to check the boat was seated properly and while there pulled the plug as usual. Pulled the boat off the ramp and parked it in the prep area. As i was getting out of the jeep the CO's pulled up. Pulled the wallet to show 'em the card. Only gave it a passing glance as they were more interested in the boat. Usual"catch anything' was replied with "a couple of gobies in the bucket". Again just a passing glance as they seemed eager on something else. The target..... live well and plug check. I'm sure had they been in a ticket would of been issued as they seemed intent on getting the message out to pull the plugs. So if you're not in the habit you BETTER DO SO !
