Same here, although I've been surprised at times walking up to the dead bear thinking "that's way bigger than I thought", or "that's way smaller than I thought". Its tough in low light to judge a black blob with little distinguishing features.

If you get a good look at its head - small ears is a bigger bear.
The best way to judge is if you can see how close his belly is to the ground - the less ground clearance the bigger the bear.
I'd describe that one as a 300+ bear.
