And yes it does have a citronella scent, but I spray all my clothes & gear outside, then leave them out in the sun for a few hours to dissipate the citronella odour…never had a problem with it afterward for hunting.

My two cents.

I guess it depends on your tolerance to the smell of citronella. For me after a while it's unbearable / nauseating. I made the mistake of putting some of this on my hunting clothes and I had to wash them about 7 times to get that (awful to me) citronella smell out. Also I am sure the deer can smell it a mile away.

After that awful experience, I found some unscented sawyer's spray bottles and I bought a good supply, so this what I use now. Also I know people that mix their own from concentrate and that also works.

Supposedly ticks are active from 4c degrees and up but can survive cold temps but not extreme cold temps. They prefer warm humid 80% plus conditions as they absorb water thru their skin to stay hydrated less than that and they die of thirst, hence throwing your pants etc. in a dryer will kill them. Remember it's the Black Legged Tick (if infected with) that carries the Lyme Disease and not the common Deer Tick , either way if one is attached just remove it promptly with a Tick removal key/tool and a dab of Polysporin or peroxide/alcohol wipe wouldn't be a bad idea either.
