Yes, I fished it once with my BIL but found it to be very shallow and did not catch anything much to brag about. Any tips?
I've had better luck at Constant lake near Dacre.
If your up that way, swing by Round Lake..we used to catch some nice lake trout in there, lots of pickerel.
Pete, when I bought this place buddy asked me if I had any use for a Fiberglas Jon-boat car topper....I said NO, I was into canoeing then and wouldn't use it. Flash ahead and I sure wish I had , regretted it for the past few years. I'll be buying one the next time I see one at an auction, that's for sure. :)

Wilber Lake is the best place I have fished (locally) for pike (there are some nice bass too). There are some monsters in there! If you try it again - go to the east end of the lake. There's a big clump of tall weeds near the middle of the lake - you can see them from the highway. Just about off from the farm that has the big solar panel display.Quote:

I went past it yesterday and the public launch looks like is really muddy. I believe that the nearby White Birch Cottages allows launching for a fee.
Wilber Lake is also a great spot for watching Osprey's catch fish.

GLP you seem like a cool person. I also have about three Mitchell 300s. They might be pretty old, but they still catch fish. I also had a flat bottom jon boat until I sold it last year. I do have a car top boat that is a semi v. I've been seeing quite a few of your posts. Who knows someday when I'm in Ontario I might see you fishing somewhere. Like you I've had an old fly fishing outfit. I bought it when I was 12 yrs. old. It still works. I will try to catch some bass and pike on flies this year. I think like you that it doesn't take a lot of expensive fishing equipment and fancy boats to catch fish.
