I have a x67c and an elite 5 both are amazing for ice fishing. I find the elite 5 a little powerful for shallow water. Oh and the amplitude bar is awesome, my buddies hate when they fish beside me in the fish trap and I always see the fish before it shows on the sonar screen. I might have to look at the elite 4. may be an x67c for sale soon.
I just got this unit and I was hoping some of you guys could share your basic settings with me. To get started what should I have the basic settings at for ice fishing? I am going to read the manual tonight but if you guys that own one could help me out as to what you leave yours at that would be great!
I've had the X67 for about 7 years now and it's taken until the last 2 to finally figure out how to use it perfectly for deep water. I can now see my jig clear in 130fow on kemp...
So if the elite is more powerful, should be awesome!
You can download a demo on the Lawrence site and play with it to get a idea of how it works. I had the x67, then traded for the elite 4. Not enough time to make a judgment between the two units, but visually I like the elite 4 better. Dual beam was a plus because I eventually want to run this for soft and hard water.Quote:

So can someone please explain to me when I should use each frequency. The Elite 4x ice machine has both 83-kHz and 200-khz frequencies. Which one should I be using for say fishing in 80 feet of water for lake trout, or fishing in 20 feet of water for perch? Whats the best situation to use each frequency?
In deep water use the 200khz freq. Narrower beam.
In shallow water some use the wider beam 83khz but many just stick with the narrower beam.
I always use the 200khz beam.

Their regular prices on fishfinders is mostly way too high.
On the regular prices Radioworld is far better.
Yep, $279 plus a $50 mail in rebate! Includes both transducers, I just grabbed one 2 days ago. Just have to find a store that has one in Stock cause they have no idea what it is.
