Pepper spray.
I just did this last week used about 5 under my shed, 5 under my deck. Skunk is gone within a day.
Another thing is to get hair off your dog. Lots of it like from a haircut/grooming. Put it under your shed. The skunk will leave. My groomer told me to do this and swear she has several customers who can attest. And it doesn't matter which dog breed it is.
Lol I've seen skunks sleep right beside piles of mothballs , they are a very ineffective deterrent from my experience , seems this advice must float around the net quite a bit because a good portion of the jobs I go to do people have already tried the mothball route and it dint work . Don't mistake seasonal food source changes with an animal moving away
Skunks usually do not live in one place in the city. They may have 3-5 different hide always in the location. He does not stay in one place very long and will leave your place and go to his other home for some time. Eventually he will make its way back to your house. Considering its winter I would put out fresh snow around the hole. Track which way the tracks go. If he is out. Seal up the entrance. He can't get back in. He will move along.
