GPS collars only last abut 24 hours, I run both collars usually. Lots of identification on both. I've found and returned several hounds, and had mine returned or phoned about. We would never intentionally leave our hounds. I've had them stolen, collars disgarded. Many hounds, and senior ones aren't prone to quitting, even in slow mode. Good work for finding it, kijiji has a good lost site, you could post it there. If it is a LUP site the MNR might be able to help you out. It might not even belong to the camp you found it at.

Not so true the camp to south runs harming tracking his batteries last over a month

3.6 v batteries last in collars 2 months plus as well as I can track up to and beyond 25 kms
A few yrs ago a big male in great shape we tracked by truck late into night 70 kms away and recovered him he must if chased every deer in the neighbour hood
The owner of the dog obviously values the dog to put a $200.00 tracking collar on it.
That's what I pay for mine anyway.
Good on you guys to recover the dog.
