Thanks Fenelon, thats what I was looking for.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, as a hunter I cannot sell my furs unless I'm a licensed trapper?
They will use your small game license # since you don't have an ATN
Yes you can sell, you need a fur selling permit which is free, I think they just changed that law. You only need to go online and fill out the paperwork or something like that.

Edit - Here is what I found - I bolded the ones that would interest you - copied from:

The following licences are obtained from a Ministry of Natural Resources Office (listed below):
Farmer’s Licence to Sell Pelts or Carcasses N/C
Fur Dealer’s Licence to Buy or Sell Pelts $39.63
Fur Dealer’s Licence to Tan Pelts $39.63
Raccoon Night Hunters Licence $ 16.50
Licence to Possess a Pelt N/C
Fur Export Licence ($ royalty fee)
Licence to Send Pelts to a Tanner ($ royalty fee)
Wow this post is awesome... I honestly thought I couldn't sell my pelts, now I just have to figure out how to prep them in my apartment parking lot lol
thanks mastercastera and everyone else
Thats why I asked the question. I was willing to bet that most didnt know anything about the royalty. I know some Taxidermist would tan one without asking , however, I have had 2 done over the years from 2 different Taxidermist and both wanted the permit number or what ever you want to call it. After reading some of the stipulations it definetly is not easy to figure out. The MNR even has a permit for an untaned hide (which they call a pelt I think) if it is kept after the season closes versus a tanned hide.
So.. What do I do to sell a pelt though.. Who do I call?
Last year the royalty fee was $1.90 per yote so I'm sure it will be up a bit this year.
3wheelerdude, you must use a backwoods small tax man as the 3 taxidermists that I know that have tanned pelts for guys in our group wouldn't have anything to do with the hide until you have the permit.
