I think you said it here... Mine I found in my grandpas closet..... But I don't care. My hardware store gun is worth more to me... Meaning a cheap gun is more important then something that was your GRANDFATHERS... That's how I took it.

I read it as his grandfathers gun is the hardware store gun and it's worth more to him sentimentally than the book value of the rusty gun.

We all should have known what he meant.
You can lend him one but you also have to be hunting with him while he is using it. He is not alound to take it home or use it with out you around as this falls under the PAL licence. I store my guns up north with my father inlaw, and he had a POL. In order for him to store them for me he had to ungrade his licence to a PAL. He was upgrading his to a PAL anyways so it work out ok. I can find the info online but it was brought up in the firearms course. Just tell you friend to upgrade to the PAL and the problems will be solved. I don't know if things changed now with LGR gone but it I would just play it safe now.
