there is the next problem, 350 tag additional zec fee , could be around 600-700 .all in. still got fuel etc,, lalalala back to just getting an outfitter in ont. I just need to know who has ventured up say norh of val,dor or seneterre during moose hunt and what the numbers of hunters like.. I know there is less camps up there then southerly regions.
as far as getting a moose out that is not a concern, I know your right when you say further in the fewer hunters. However , thats what we thought in temiscaming, after bushwacking way in off the road met a couple guys who did the same thing from the other side,,lol.. so we had a beer and laughed it off
You want guaranteed moose, head to Matane reserve, something like 20-30 moose per 10 sq.km mind you its a bit of a hike. As Werner, said the Zecs are a good option. My camp is in Zec St. Patrice and we have lots of moose around, and if your willing to do your homework you will find areas with no hunters, we never see anyone in the two weeks of bow and rifle. Once established, everyone respects each other. Take a look at the following website and see the different ones around. Not sure your max distance, let me know and maybe I can help you out.

And toddc; just realized you are a valley boy. Something like Zec St. Pat's would work good for you. I pay a yearly fee of $200 (family) and that includes all activities from fishing (second to none), spring and fall bear hunting (no outfitter req'd), and my bow and rifle moose hunt (not incl. licence) and my camp is roughly 2hrs from home by truck (taking my time on rough roads/trail). Sad to say but because Ontario has gone the way it has, the only thing I pursue on this side anymore is deer and turkey. La belle province has way better management IMO.
I agree. Here is the problem, I have done all the homework I can do online, asking you guys is part of it. I would consider a zec and I would also be prepared to drive 6 hrs north if it means a good place. I was looking into parent lake area,, any thoughtsQuote:
