Then probably grouse
I have to second the caribou
Love it all, but still nothing beats a few fresh grouse.
Grouse is always a treat, but I'd say that my best game meal was a 14 pound jake done on the rotisserie in the BBQ. Toms are what I target in the field, but for eating a young bird is amazing :):)
Make sure you and The Wife don't get caught with those Ontario caribou.....Quote:

I do love elk too, but haven't eaten a lot of it so far.
For me nothing beats late season corn fed mallards, in general though ducks are my favourite table fare, not all ducks obviously. I also love grouse and a good feed of venison and moose too!!!!

Nothing beats a fresh deer tenderloin and heart victory meal at the camp. We eat it same day as the kill, never brought a tenderloin home its the camp tradition.
