I have a 1in thick steel plate I plan to use, it was the base for a patio table at a bar :) I will save my cast iron for shore lunch

I have my "James Smart" cast iron pans put away for those special meals...these ones I pick up are cheap knock offs, they deserve to be shot before they hit the landfill :)
I used to use a 3/4" steel plate, worked well but the bullets wouldn't penetrate it....I like being able to see light thru the 'hole' made when I look at it thru the spotting scope. Even putting a paper target on it didn't work well, the bullet would tear the paper when they ricocheted.
My buddy dropped off some old propane tanks (x4) for me to shoot last weekend. I hang them on a bungee cord out at the 260yd range for 'fun' shooting. They work well.
260 yards with a smoke pole and a swinging target, nice.
