We all no the wording of the law, would you actually get charged? highly unlikely if their out for a walk with dad.
You got them out on the other side of the swamp pushing, then yes of course, but walking along, or sitting with dad waiting for the turkey, whether your 12 or 22.
Common sense prevails.
Its a provincial offence if any, not criminal.
As previously posted, a non licenced person can go with a licenced hunter. We checked all this out when a buddy from the States came moose hunting. They cannot participate in the hunt, but can assist in retrieving game. Pushing bush or jumping on brush piles constitutes hunting and is not allowed. They can walk through a bush when pushing game , as long as they are immediately with a licenced hunter.
He's allowed to shoot as long as he's in your direct supervision but he is not allowed to hunt without his license. So essentially he can go target shooting with you but no hunting
He is allowed to shoot, but not at game!
Too bad that those under 16 are not allowed to come along and participate, just not carry guns, without a license. The same as kids fishing.....
Those weren't questionable activities, it's called cultivating new hunters and it's perfectly fine. My children come out with me often, my oldest just took his course and did his apprentice license. His interest stemmed from all the times he came out with me. We've done this with adults many times as well. Your reading too much into it!
You had to get a license so why wouldn't he
Absolutely! In our family,it's a time-honored tradition. Only one of my boys has a license, but, the other three still like to come out for "tramp in the woods" every once in a while, even as adults and now,the grandkids are old enough to come out, too. They love it. Over the years,I've ran into many CO's and nobody has ever questioned it. Sometimes,in these thread, some things tend to get over-analyzed. I think this may be one of them.
