Good advice on the ranging doves, I agree. We are using 1 1/8oz #7 steel at 1450 and it is working fantastically , one mojo, some full bodies and I made a bunch of silos, they seem to work, while some doves do ignore it none flared.

Well got out for the first time this morning. Not a ton of action, but a few here and there flying around. Won't feed the entire family, but still a successful hunt for a first time dove hunter.

Great job. I'm hoping to get out later this week.
Good job KG!
I loving the Dove hunts! Last year we did fantastic and we didn't even need decoys. This year I geared up with 2 mojos, dozen clip on decoys and I build 2 of my own trees using a fence post and threaded rod. Birds are coming right into the decoy set up. I have them set up on a dirt hill so they can be seen and we sit one guy just below and one on the hill and they fly right to us....fast suckers they are! We are shooting 12G 7's with Mod Choke. Last year I was using 8's and they worked fantastic!
I cant wait until the corn is cut next door...mornings and evenings are a blast. They fly right through our property so we always have a good shoot.
Do you guys use the decoys on trees or do you keep them on the ground like feeders?
