sometimes your permit may stipulate other conditions as well. Are said we could not cut standing tree's even if they are dead. It also said we could not use ATV's, or trucks to haul the wood out. I'm guessing to ensure you don't tear up the land.

In my case, more like $4/face, plus the gas and so on. I never counted I just take as much as I can because if I don't it will rot there. Yesterday I went for partridge where I get my fire wood, I found pils of hardwood logs rotten in an old log yard, I guess the logger couldn't get it all before the winter and it wasn't worth it to come back for it the next year.Quote:

It appears that some districts are enforcing the act with a little more enthusiasm than others. In Sudbury the MNR is charging those who are picking up tops and culls from cutovers. This is wood that has already been paid for by the companies through stumpage fees. It is also the very same wood that the companies will bulldoze into piles in the late fall and burn to clear the site for future plantings.
Can't get much more petty than that.
Some things never cease to amaze me here . What is going to happen when all with common sense pass on or is there an app needed for that too ? Yup this ol trapper shaking his head again .

years ago my hometown in the GTA built a new launch ramp and parking lot.....You know, one of those big concrete things with no moving parts...The old ramp was free to use, but they could not open the new one until they had the user fees figured out. This took about 8 months during which the ramp sat with a barricade so it could not be used. As soon as the fees were in place, they bulldozed the old gravel ramp and left it sitting...
I deal with Sudbury as well. We wanted to cut down a big old pine that was rotting and threatening to fall on our LUP parking lot. They wanted us to pay a stumpage fee to cut it down. I told the guy when I get around to coming into Sudbury I'll stop in the office and pay.......Quote:

according to the MNR it means when your hauling it away for personal use.
