My primer of choice for BH209 is Federal 209A.
I picked up a box of CCI a couple weeks ago and discovered later that it wasn't the 209M that I had originally asked for, and so far, I was unable to locate those anywhere in the GTA. Anyway, I recently picked up a box of Federal 209A that should work well.
Im shooting BH 209 90gr by volume, cheditte primers, and 260gr PR dead center bullets out of TC bone collector, with excellent results
Another question - BH209 recommends using oil based solvents for cleaning the bore - what do you folks use?
Hoppes.
I use Ed's Red. Mix it up for all my guns. Seems to work well on sabot deposits. Check out the recipe on line. Just have to google it. For copper deposits in my rifles, I use ammonia. Works well.
Today, I finally decided to take out the ML after a gap of couple years. My initial experience, when I had first obtained the rifle wasn't a positive one, and at the time, I didn't test anything else other than 777 pellets behind couple different bullet types.
Anyway, I freshly boresighted the rifle and shot the target at 50 yards. The first three shots (250gr Hornady SST-ML Low Drag) with 80gr BH209 (volumetric measure) wasn't impressive. Subsequently, I increased the charge to 100gr of powder and shot the next 3 shot group using the same bullets. Finally, I went up to 120gr of BH209 and sent five consecutive shots (3 Hornadys + 2 TCs in that order) down range. Only ran a couple dry patches after I shot the very first group. Used CCI 209 Magnum primers.
I used the Traditions' Composite Powder Measure Tube that I had picked up from Bass Pro. Noticed that there was a very slight difference when the same amount was poured into a TC powder measure. However, I don't think that would have mattered much.
The Hornadys were very easy to load without any cleaning, however, the TC Shockwave Super Glides required quite a bit of effort to seat. All shots were fired without any tweaks to scope setting post the boresight. Will attend to the fine tuning when I take it out for 100 yards. All in all quite a turnaround of results (for me) since my initial trial. We shall see what happens at 100 yards.
P.S. pbonura- sorry I couldn't inform you about my plans for the range trip as it was short notice for me.

Picked up (from Cabelas) some BH209 plastic charge tubes to facilitate range work mostly as far as loose powder is concerned. It would save some time due to the ability to carry a bunch of pre-measured charges to the range. However, based on user feedbacks, the graduations marked on the tubes are not accurate. Therefore, the powder will need to be properly measured prior to pouring into a tube. Aside from that, the tubes are well constructed, strong with tight fitting caps.

I picked up basically the same things off eBay in the summer. ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kentucky-Bil...-/291019285170 )
They work great, used them this fall for all my range shooting. Nice not having to take the powder and measure out to the range table.
You'll be happy with them !
