Just another update, and so I don't have to create another topic - did a track for someone else again last evening in Prince Edward County. Deer ran about 100 yards and laid down in some thick cedars. Misty found it within 10 minutes - hell, a guy on foot could have followed the blood trail and found it within 10 minutes.
Great training for the dog, but honestly - a waste of my time. I don't mind volunteering my time, it's what I signed up for - but seriously, if I'm driving 30 minutes out of my way, a person should at least exhaust their options before calling me.
I'm still going to chalk it up to 10 finds, one loss. (That one loss may be a find tomorrow once I get back to my hunting camp to try to find what remains of it.)
