Yesterday I had the tractor (4000 lbs) down by our "launch ramp" and pressed down on the ice with the bucket but couldn't break it. I then drove out so the front wheels were on the ice and tried again with the same result so I pulled further out. When the rear wheels got out to about one foot of depth they broke thru.....3" of ice AT THAT SPOT.
Just lowered the bucket and pushed myself out....
We have had about 4-6" of dry powdery snow come down but it's going to warm up by Sunday so the snow will be slippery. At this point you can drive pretty well any trail in 4wd with no problem. I will probably put the chains on my bike today...
