I found my wooden kayak paddle (nice and smooth rounded end) worked really well for breaking the deer hide I made last year.
I put the hide on the floor and pushed the end of the paddle on it, easy on the back and easier than moving the hide over something.
Very nice Frank, you've got some serious time hangin on that wall.

A true talent for sure. Awesome job.
Thanks for taking the time to post your process. Great job! They look great!
Hey wow these turned out quite well. Nice job! Lots of hard work. I to recently decided to try my hand at tanning some coyotes. I used the Deer hunter and trappers formula in the orange bottle available at Bass pro and Cabelas and was very happy with the results. For 20 dollers a bottle I was able to do two coyotes. I was thinking about ordering the kit from Mckenzie's taxidermy online for my next one but seeing how well yours turned out I'm interested in trying this method as well. Thanks for posting
Make sure you clean the vent after....snicker...
Must of missed this thread but those look really good Frank.
Good job on the hides. it is alot of work, but you feel good about it when you are done.
Beautiful work , you get much more out of the hunt than most. Thanks for sharing.
