Just got back from a run. No encounters but very little exposed ground still.

Well look what I found today March 15. It didn't want to fly away it just fluttered a few feet then sat down. Good to see.
South of Sarnia 20 mins. Not too far from a small town called Brigden. I was taking some material back into the bush working on my tree stand platform and it was on the trail I plowed the snow from a few weeks back and now it's dirt so I figured it was searching for something to eat amongst the leaves and logs that I exsposed.
I saw a bunch of Robins today in London, the woodcock are usually here the same time as them.
No robins or woodcock here yet. Just yucky snow
I hit a few spots yesterday towards the long point area and snow depth is still very deep and ground is flooded. Be a few more weeks I think for any good woodcock finds. So pigeons it is for some early training I guess.
I think they are close, saw some of the woodcock on the map provided above are in Ohio Wisconsin and Northern Pennsylvania, also one spotted by Lake Ontario in Peel
