Part of my job involves leadership development and management training. For an organization to continually fail to meet even modest objectives (i.e. just make the play offs) for so long, there have to be many things seriously flawed throughout the entire organization, top to bottom. Its not simply about a bad trade or a knee-jerk firing; its about deep-seated dis-function at many levels.
There's got to be some MBA student somewhere whose Masters thesis is a case-study of the Leafs' organizational failure. I'd love to read it.
