I've ridden for decades, too. People that believe loud pipes makes them be 'seen' just aren't paying attention to what's around them. Otherwise they'd know a good chunk of drivers are so distracted and tunnel focussed already.

A young neighbor loves his motorcycle. Always a sign of Spring when I he hear him reving up. :)
(I'm seen two terrible motorcycle accidents up close. Neither were the motorcycle drivers' fault - passenger thrown 50+ yards- enough to make me never want to get on the back of one.)
Nope, I've got all my teeth, and no sexual attraction towards any cousins :)
Kidding (dad is a huge Nascar fan) so love to give the gears (pun intended)
I'm all for people liking their toys, and the loudness, but as mentioned, if we drove our quads, dirt bikes, stingered up sleds up and down the street, we'd be getting paperwork from the LEO's in no time... Yet, Guys can keep cracking Harley throttles up and down our street vibrating the insides of the houses without worry.
Not to mention the French and the furious with their winged up front wheel drive grocery getters and coffee can exhausts! tabernac!
I like Nascar but much prefer Indy racing though. However if they were to run one up and down my street I'd be figuring out just how much to lead them.
Agree 100% that's our choice
nothing worse than having a relaxing afternoon with the bbq going and the silence is drowned by a group of Harley's driving by with the baffles taken out so everyone within a mile can say "wow he owns a Harley"
i know a lot of Harley owners that are great people and their bikes are quiet and enjoyable but others are just way too extream with sound
Awe the envy of every biker to own a Harley. What annoys me more is a Sea Doo doing nothing but donuts or joy riding around most anglers or when you are working in close to shore say 50 to 60 yds out casting towards shore to try and raise a bass or muskie when one of the above travels between you and the shoreline. Now that's my pet peeve...
we have a neighbour who fancies himself to be a small engine mechanic. First thing he would do with the toys was to remove any sound deadening. The factories spent thousands designing a free flowing intake/combustion/exhaust system but he knew better....... Luckily his kids have grown up.
i understand that there ARE restrictions on noise on trails.....just need enforcement.
Then again, there is nothing like the sound of a V-8 rumble
