Got in last night and there's very little sign of rut activity where we are (Quebec), a little bit of raking but nothing crazy. Only had one moose respond to calling, and it turned out to be a small cow. Other than that, it was pretty quiet. Two weeks and will try again in rifle.
Still fairly warm and seems to be staying that way for awhile. 3 weeks still for our group, hope it gets to single digits.
Leaving tonight, not liking the weather forecast but its the week our group picked so were going. The journey is the destination right!
We will probably hunt the water and hope for the best.
ill fill everybody in in October when im back!!
good luck to whoever else is going out!
Just got back. Was really warm. Bulls weren't very vocal. The next cold snap I bet will help.
We're not getting up to 19 until the 16th... hopefully there will be some stragglers still in heat. Long term forecast shows fairly warm temps for this time of year, hope it cools down.
