Thanks guys. I'm going to attempt to shave his ears down a bit tonight, real close behind the ears then do the ears themselves but not right buzzed. Just enough to hopefully keep the majority of stuff out and keep the mats at bay.

First attempt made, almost impossible to hold him still. Real hack job. Got the majority of it, gonna try again tomorrow for the rest of his ears.
