Boats???

Hi Pinepointer,

Unfortunately I have not beens waterfowl hunting as of yet so I'm not sure what kind Entirely of waterbody I would be using it at. Most likely little lakes? As for the budget I'd love to get something as cheap as possible, due to this Being my first year hunting and now I'm pretty much buying all the equipment at the same time that hits my wallet pretty hard haha. Having Said That I Know That HAS though significant quality boat is really so I would not mind allocating a good chunk of my budget Towards That. Is there anything I can get under $ 1000? Under $ 500? Thank you for the advice !!!

We never hunted big water but always just used the boats (canoe) that we had. Three of us Dumped in Arran lake one morning , lost one flashlight and an old life vest which probably sank.....

You can use a canoe in sheltered waters and marshes and save the need to buy a motor. Stash the boat and hide from shore.

This is not a bad idea at all and it's probably really cheap too. A friend of mine is coming from back home and they are bringing an inflatable boat with them that sits two but doesn't have an engine. There are paddle holders though so we should be good.

I started 3 yrs ago duck hunting on the local crown land. It has sorta taken over as a passion. My first boat was a 12ft ammanna duck that I traded a 410 shotgun for. Any canoe will work if used on the right body of water. Marshes are deceiving in visible depth…lol They have lots of deep muck. If you wish to try out duck hunting a pair of waders might be the first option and a body of water to wade out in. My little boat has served me well and works just awesome. Last year I got a 12ft aluminum, 4hp motor and a trailer for all under 700.00, but I waited and watched for the deals. Start with finding an area where you can legally hunt, have access and launch able sites. Once you find those, you can tailor your needs. I do not have a dog yet, so every set up and shot is taken with a mind to retrieval.

Could you please tell me which store you bought your boat from? It seems to be like a great deal so I will keep an eye on their promotions.

I'm pretty sure that other than deer hunting, going out for ducks and geese will be my primary passion as well. I can not wait to go do it
